Club Awards Winners 2006!
DASH has received two awards in
the 2006 UK Club Awards! In the North West category, DASH was runner-up
in the Club Innovation award, and in the coaching category Head Coach
Geoff Barratt was named North West Development Coach of the Year.
In the coaching categories, Geoff was awarded North West Development
Coach of the Year for the demonstration of outstanding, knowledge and
expertise in development coaching through resuls and athlete
progression. Geoff will now go through to the National Awards Dinner to
represent the North West. Congratulations Geoff!
The Club Innovation Category is for clubs who, in any area of the
sport, have demonstrated innovation and initiative in delivery of
athletics at their chosen level and to their chosen audience and
community. In this category, DASH finished runner-up. In stark contrast
to the winners, Sale Harriers, the success at DASH has been achieved on
a very small budget and with almost no funding at all. Hopefully, this
award will help us to attract sports funding and grants for the club
and also help us to attract sponsors. With support from the Governing
Bodies, paents, coaches and athletes, hopefully next year we can go one
better. Congratulations to everyone involved with the club!
