Sports:Hall Article - February 2006.
We've finished the qualifying rounds of
this season's competition, and we're now looking forward to the Finals.
Those of you with internet access will have read Joe's report on all
our teams this season. It's been another inspirational set of results.
Four teams have qualified for these finals, and the other two teams
finished in seventh and eighth place respectively. as you'll see from
the attached league tables the Under 13 Girls missed out by 5.5 points.
That's a frustrating near miss. The good news is that we retain all but
one of those girls in next year's Under 13 team, where they will be
joined by at least four of this year's Under 11's. Could be a big team.
And that takes no account of any new girls we recruit between now and
the start of next season. So lots to look forward to.
I've written to all those who'll be involved in the finals, but if any
of the Under 11 or Under 13 Girls would like to come along to cheer on
the team or support the coaches, it'll be a pleasure to see you. I know
some of you may have no choice, as your brothers or sisters will be
there already! And please note
that there will be no training on Saturday 18th March - the day of the
finals.
We will, of course,
carry on training on Saturdays. After the finals, we'll look forward to
the outdoor season, where there will be plenty of opportunity for track
and field competition. For the Under 13's - that's years 7 & 8 -
there is also the possibility of inclusion in the Stockport Team for
the Greater Manchester Youth Games. We'll keep you up to date on all
those.
So congratulations to all the teams. Another splendid season from our
ever-frowing and talented squad. And thanks, as always, to all of you
who support us. We can't do this without you.
