Balance Test.
In the balance beam test you balance on a
thin beam for up to 15 seconds, on one leg. You repeat this twice on
each leg. At the end, your four times are added up to give you a final
score out of 60 seconds. The foot that is not placed on the beam should
be bent backwards and held in your free hand. With your other hand you
can hold on to the judge to help you get your balance.
Rules
1. The watch is started when you choose to let go of the judges arm
that is helping you get your balance.
2. The watch stops when you let go of your free foot or when you touch
the fllor, or else when you have completed 15 seconds.
3. The athlete changes legs for each of the four trials.
Technique Hints
1. try to look at something that is not moving to help you get your
balance.
2. try to stay relaxing when you are on the beam.
3. don't tery to shift your bodyweight around when you are balancing on
the beam.
