Standing Long Jump
The standing long jump is a two-footed
jump from standing still. Up until the 1930's it was included in the
Olympic Games,, and the world record jump is over 3.60m. In
competitions, a special mat that is marked with lots of lines is used
to make it easier to measure the jump.
Rules
1. You must take off from behind the line, from a standing position;
2. The judges measurefrom the take-off line to the back of the nearest
heel to where you jumped from.
3. You can step forward after your jump, but if you step back or touch
the mat or floor behind where your feet have landed, it is a no-jump.
Technique Hints
1. Bending your knees and swinging you arms will help to give you
momentum and lift you up in the air.
