Union Fun In Athletics Festivals take place in each region of the UK.
Our region is the North West. Teams are picked from each county in that
area to represent the county in the festival. team members take part in
different sports:hall athletics events, all of which are based around
teamwork. The winning boys and girls teams receive the Fun In Athletics
Trophies. This Year, DASH coach Mike Frost was the team manager for the
Greater Manchester team, and several DASH Athletes took part in the
event that was held at sportcity, manchester, the home of the 2002
Commonwealth Games.

Union Under 13 & Under 15 Sports:Hall Athletics Programme

The
Norwich Union Sports:Hall Athletics programme is a nationwide scheme
that ends with the spectacular UK Finals at the National Indoor Arena
in Birmingham. Teams from each county are selected at under 13 and
under 15 level to take part in the regional finals, which is the North
West finals in our case. The teams that score the most points from each
region go on to meet other counties from aound the UK in the National
Finals. As well as this, individual athletes collect points for
themselves in both the regional and National Finals, and the best
all-rounders also progress to the UK Finals. After the National Finals,
the top six boys and the top sixgirls are invited to take part in the
Norwich Union search for a star competition, which is where the
athletes compete against each other over six different events, and the
winning boy and girl are crowned Norwich Union All_Rounder Champions.
This event is often screened on BBC TV, and the winning athletes
receive free kit and equipment from UK:Athletics.
